Right to education is a human right but among children of women who use drugs this right is frequently violated. The right to education is one of the key principles underpinning the Education 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) adopted by the international community. SDG 4 is rights-based and seeks to ensure the full enjoyment of the right to education as fundamental to achieving sustainable development. Women Nest through this project ensures that children of women who use drugs and other vulnerable children also enjoy fulfilment of right to education. Women Nest runs a mentorship program for children of women who use drugs where these children learn life skills, get drug prevention education and psychosocial counseling. The mentorship runs through support of volunteers.
