Universal health coverage for women who use drugs in the background of punitive laws, policies and practices requires intensified advocacy at various levels. Women who use drugs must be at the forefront of this advocacy and need sufficient knowledge about universal health coverage to do this. Further, as compared to their male counter parts women who use drugs have limited access to health and harm reduction services for themselves and their children increasing the need for universal health coverage for all women who use drugs and their beneficiaries.
