Ms. Winnie Ritho is a woman who uses drugs but currently on Medically Assisted Therapy. She started drug use in her adolescent years and dropped out of the university at a tender age of 22 due to drug use. She has lived in the drug using sites for many years and experienced serious harms from drug use. Winnie is a renowned community mobiliser with excellent knowledge of women who use drugs peer networks. She has worked as peer educators and has experienced firsthand the challenges that women who use drugs have including stigma and discrimination, gender based violence, experience with the criminal justice system. She is passionate about preventing drug use among adolescent girls and women and ensuring high educational attainment among girls.
